How to Join

We do not recruit; we wait for you to reach out. Here is the typical journey to becoming a member:

1

Initial Inquiry

The first step is simply to get in touch. We will answer your initial questions and arrange a casual introduction.

2

The Informal Meeting

We’ll meet for a coffee or a drink to get to know you. This is a chance for you to learn more about the Lodge and for us to learn about you.

3

Lodge Introduction

You may be invited to social events to meet the wider membership, ensuring that Ashley Hill is the right fit for your journey.

4

Formal Interview

If both you and the Lodge wish to proceed, a formal interview is held, leading to your eventual initiation into the Craft.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the time commitment?

We meet five times a year on the first Tuesday of February, April, June, September, and November. We also encourage attendance at our fortnightly Classes of Instruction.

What does it cost?

There is an annual subscription and a fee for dining at our ‘Festive Board’. We believe in total financial transparency and will discuss these costs in detail during our first meeting.

Is it a secret society?

No. We are a society with secrets (such as our traditional signs), but our existence, our meeting places, and our charitable aims are entirely public.
